MONTICELLO –– “It’s all downhill from here” has a different meaning for Monticello High School senior Alexis “Lexi” Heins. Lexi is an accomplished skier winning multiple titles this season and in previous years. Lexi has been on ski’s since the  tiny age of two and began racing by the age of four.

February was a busy month for Lexi securing second and first place finishes in races like the NY Winter Games, The Empire State Games, and the Section IX    girls title. Heins also brought home a first place finish at USAA States in the giant slalom.  She [Lexi] was selected to race in the  USAA Easterns in Attitash, NH, a prestigous honor in which only seven  girls were chosen to race to represent the entire state.  Lexi has raced many well known locations including Belleayre, Gore, Windham, and home to the 1980 Winter Olympics, Lake Placid.

During the fall season Lexi plays the goalie position for the Panthers playing soccer competitively since the age of 12. Lexi takes the time to give back to her community by volunteering locally with the Red Cross. She is a member of her high school prom committee and Student Council. After graduation in June Alexis plans to pursue a career in criminal justice.
