DOWNSVILLE — After a long summer, high school sports are making their return to the area on Tuesday, September 3.

Downsville is hosting their annual James Campbell and Jane Flannery Soccer Tournament, which kicks off Tuesday.

Starting off the day, Sullivan West boys and girls will be facing off against Delaware Academy.

These matchups will be followed by Liberty and Sidney, who square off at 2 p.m.

The merged squad of Livingston Manor and Roscoe will make their season debut at 4:30 as they take on Bainbridge-Guildford.

Finally, at 7 p.m. the tournament hosts will take on Monticello under the lights, as both Panthers teams will be in action.

The crossover matchups between Section IX and Section IV are always a great way to tune up for the upcoming season, and will provide coaches an early look at their team’s strengths and weaknesses.

More than half of the county’s schools are participating in the tournament, which always brings some great, competitive games.
