MONTICELLO–– Winter sports have just about come to an end with a few races remaining. On March 29 Monticello senior, Alexis Heins will race at USAA Easterns in Attitash, NH to represent NYS. Heins won first place on March 9 at Wyndham Mountain, securing her spot at Easterns. Only the top 7 girls were chosen to represent all of NY State. 

Recently Heins and her teammate Sam Rein won the girls and boys Section IX ski titles and Diego Ferrer was awarded the Sportsmanship Award at the New York State Alpine Ski Championships at Gore Mountain. Many outstanding athletes competed at the NYSPHSAA Championships at Gore Mountain. 

Alpine competitors included: Sam Rein, Alexis Heins, Reese Kelly, Diego Ferrer and Madelyn Cavello. Nordic competitors included Abby Morse, Baya Titus, Yousef Elsayed and Gio Gutierrez.
