LAKE HUNTINGTON – This year, the Sullivan West Archery Club has 43 participants ranging in grades 4-6. The archery club is fortunate enough to have the Catskill Outdoorsman Archery range to practice at in Jeffersonville. Head Coach Scott Scardino & Assistant Coach Ryan Terracciano have been working hard to get the students ready for competition this season. High school students Avery Bair, Carly Scardino, and Victoria
Skuthan have been a great help assisting for practices and coaching the team. Sullivan West hosted the 2nd annual state Qualifier at the Elementary school in Jeffersonville. Several school staff members including teachers, custodial staff, security, administration, and Catskill Outdoorsman Pro-staff helped to run the event. The club competed in two local qualifying tournaments to compete for placement in the NASP NYS Bullseye Tournament. For the first time, Sullivan West has an elementary team that qualified to go to the state tournament along with 8 middle class
individuals. Teams for NASP consist of a minimum of 12 students and at least 4 of each gender. The club has a total of 22 archers who qualified this year, and the students have been practicing with excitement and getting ready to compete with over 100 archers shooting on the line at the same time at the Center of Progress Building in Syracuse, NY.
Highlights for the Boys & Girls Elementary Classes:
