Tri-Valley Junior Kane Poje Qualifies for Prestigious 2026 Millrose Games

GRAHAMSVILLE — Tri-Valley junior Kane Poje has earned a spot at one of the most prestigious indoor track and field events in the world, qualifying for the 118th Annual Millrose Games set for January 30 – February 1 at The Armory Track and Field Center in New York City.

Poje qualifed for the meet with a standout performance in the weight throw Wednesday night.

The Millrose Games is the world’s longest-running indoor track meet, dating back to 1908. The event regularly features elite professional athletes, Olympic competitors, and a small number of top high school athletes from across the country, making qualification a rare achievement.

Poje becomes just the fifth athlete in Tri-Valley school history to qualify for the iconic meet. He secured his spot with a remarkable throw of 74 feet, 6.75 inches, a mark that sits only 1.75 inches shy of the Tri-Valley school record.

His performance currently ranks as the fifth-longest throw in the United States this indoor season.

Competing on a national stage like Millrose provides an opportunity not only to showcase his talent but also to represent Tri-Valley and the local community.

Poje will compete against some of the top throwers in the country at the Millrose Games.
