ROSCOE — The Twin Village Monday Night Men’s League held its annual Awards Banquet on Monday, September 29 at The Courtyard, just a chip shot from the second fairway at Twin Village.
The night started with an hour of cameraderie as the players recounted some of their most memorable – and forgetable – shots during the 2025 season.
League President Chuck Husson then presented the awards for the night.
Fourteen teams played for 14 weeks during the regular season, followed by three weeks of playoffs.
Regular Season Champs went to Chuck Husson and Tom Ackerley, who finished just ahead of Kevin Green and Lance Helms.
At the end of the regular season the top seven teams were put in the Par Division Playoffs while the remaining seven teams battled it out in the Bogey Division.
Although not a contact sport, Lance Helms suffered a broken tibia and talus midway through the season, which saw him on the sidelines for seven weeks.
But super sub Dayton Frey stepped in to keep the team near the top of the standings all season long on their way to the playoff championship.
In the Par Division Playoffs, it was Green and Helms who took home the trophy, as they knocked off Husson and Ackerly in a hard fought match.
It was the second year in a row these two teams had battled for first place, with Husson and Ackerley winning in 2024.
In the Bogey Division, the father-and-son team of Everett and Collin Tallman defeated George Kinne and Fred Stabbert to win first place.
Gavin Thomas won the award for most eagles on the season, 1.
Kevin Green won the award for most birdies, 20. Green also won for most points on the year, with an impressive 87.
Bryan Thomas won the award for most pars during the regular season, 64.
Collin Tallman had the Low Handicap for the year, at 1.89, and received a special award for his hole-in-one on the Par-4, fifth hole, a double eagle.
His father, Everett, had recorded one the year before on the par-4 seventh hole.
Husson also awarded some of the “Top Scorers,” those players who had double digits on a hole during the regular season, special recognition at the end of the ceremony.
League member Ryan Wood said, “I would just like to thank Chuck for all he did this season, running the golf league, putting in all the scores as well as setting up all the matches. He deserves a round of applause.”
Husson said the league would have several new teams in 2026 and would be working on a few changes for the new year.
The course, which is owned by the Town of Rockland, is a 2,085-yard, par 32 layout, sported exceptionally good greens throughout the entire season.
