We Care Powers Through Callicoon Pantry in High-Scoring Summer Night Showdown

MONTICELLO– It was a busy night at Collins Field as We Care and Callicoon Pantry took the field for an action-packed matchup filled with big hits, explosive innings, and plenty of offense.

We Care wasted no time setting the tone in the top of the first inning. The offense came out swinging. The highlight came early with an inside-the-park home run that cleared the bases and brought three runners across before Callicoon could record a single out. After finally settling in and recording three outs, Callicoon was still unable to stop the damage as We Care added one more run to take an 11-0 lead.

Callicoon Pantry responded in the bottom half of the inning, showing some fight with a quick offensive burst of their own. A few key hits brought three runners’ home before We Care closed out the inning, cutting the deficit to 11-3.

The second inning continued to favor We Care as they delivered another string of hard hits into the outfield, extending their lead to 18-3. Callicoon answered with a strong defensive inning, recording three quick outs and keeping We Care off the board in the bottom of the frame.

We Care continued their offensive push adding three more runs before Callicoon was able to finally stop the momentum. With the score at 21-3, Callicoon came back to life in the bottom half, putting together several big hits and scoring multiple runs before We Care secured the final out.

The fourth inning brought another surge from We Care. After Callicoon picked up an early out, We Care responded with three doubles that brought two runs home and sparked another rally. The string of hits continued, resulting in four total runs and putting We Care just one run away from closing out the game by mercy rule with a 25-6 advantage.

Callicoon needed a big response, but We Care’s defense came through with three quick outs, including a strikeout, to keep the game moving.

In the fifth inning, We Care once again found their rhythm. After an early out, a triple brought a runner home and opened the door for another offensive stretch. More hits followed, pushing We Care’s lead to 28-6 before Callicoon finally ended the inning.

With the game on the line in the bottom of the fifth, Callicoon Pantry continued to battle. They opened the inning with a triple bringing a runner home after a caught pop fly tag-up. We Care secured the final out to finish the night with a 28-7 victory.

It was an impressive offensive showing from We Care, while Callicoon Pantry showed resilience and kept competing until the final out on a memorable summer night of softball.
