MONTICELLO–– The Cornwall Dragons Volleyball team paid a visit to Monticello in a league matchup. The first set of the evening featured the most competitive set of the match.

The Panthers grabbed a quick lead in the set 4-2. The Dragons would snag the lead and would not look back most of the match. Cornwall featured well balanced all around play all night including strong service, passing and play at the net. The Dragons size caused trouble for the Panthers all night. Monticello would battle and hang in there during the first set leveling the score at 12-12 after Panther’s coach Burns called a time out. The Dragons would put the first set away with a run that brought them ahead 18-15.

Ultimately, Cornwall would take the first set 25-16. After a competitive back and forth first set, the Dragons would take control of the match. Cornwall would start the second set fast and grab a quick 10-2 lead forcing the Panthers to call a time out. Despite the Panthers best effort to adjust they could not deter the outstanding all around play by the Dragons. Cornwall would take the second set 25-8. The third set was a similar story to the second. 

The Dragon domination would continue as they would cruise to a third set victory 25-6. The Dragons would sweep Monticello three sets to none, 25-16, 25-8, and 25-6.
