LIBERTY- With a packed crowd of fans supporting their Redhawks it looked to be a great night for the girls last week vs a visiting Raiders team. The energy in “The Nest” was huge! Many student athletes as well as parents were in attendance to cheer on the ladies in a tough matchup against the rival Raiders of Port Jervis.
The raiders ended up getting a sweep on the night taking all three sets from the Lady Redhawks but it wasn’t without a fight.
The first set ended with a final tally of 16-25.
The second set ended with final tally of 15-25 and the third and final set ended with a tally of 20-25 with the RedHawks trying to battle back to win the third set but to no avail.
The Redhawks were led in Aces by Julissa Velez with 3 on the day. The Redhawks were led on the defensive side of the net by Arianna Wilson with 3 on the day.
This was the second meeting of the teams this season with the Raiders claiming victory in their previous meeting back in September. Liberty continues to struggle this season with an 0-14 record. They will face off against Fallsburgh on Friday, October 18 ,on Fallsburg’s home court.
The Raiders advance their record to 6-8 on the season. Their next matchup will also be on Friday, October 18, against O’Neill.
