As we officially start the Spring season, the Sullivan Catskills continues to thrive as a premier tourism destination, attracting industry professionals, media representatives, and visitors eager to experience our region’s unique charm. Here’s a look at some recent developments and upcoming events that are shaping our tourism economy.
SCVA on the Road:
Promoting the Sullivan Catskills
The Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association (SCVA) has been hard at work showcasing our region at major industry events. Staff recently attended the Philadelphia Flower Show, an annual event that attracts approximately 250,000 visitors, offering a fantastic platform to promote the natural beauty, accommodations, and attractions of our area. The SCVA used this opportunity to engage with attendees and hand out our 2025 Travel Guides. Additionally, earlier in February, the SCVA participated in the American Bus Association (ABA) Marketplace, strengthening connections with tour operators and travel planners to bring more group tours to our destination.
Celebrating Maple Season
This weekend marks Week Two of New York State’s Maple Weekend, and the Sullivan Catskills is home to many sugar houses and restaurants that are celebrating with open houses, maple-flavored dishes, and specialty beverages. This seasonal event not only highlights the region’s rich agricultural heritage but also provides a sweet boost to local businesses as visitors indulge in fresh maple products.
Hudson Valley Restaurant Week
Hudson Valley Restaurant Week is happening from March 31st-April 13th. Several Sullivan Catskills restaurants are participating, including Conover Club, Kevin’s Restaurant, The Homestead, Woodstock Way Groovy Eatery, and many more. This bi-annual culinary celebration invites diners to experience the region’s diverse dining scene with specially curated menus at discounted prices.
