Strengthening the Sullivan Catskills’ Presence

Posted

As we step into February, the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association (SCVA) continues its mission to promote our region and strengthen its economic impact through tourism. The past month has been an exciting time, with the team hitting the road to showcase all that the Sullivan Catskills has to offer while also welcoming international visitors to experience it firsthand.

Showcasing the Sullivan Catskills at Trade Shows

The SCVA team recently attended the New York Travel & Adventure Show at the Jacob Javitz Convention Center from January 25-26, engaging with travelers, industry professionals, and media looking for their next destination. Additionally, the Sullivan Catskills had a presence over at The Fly-Fishing Show in New Jersey, promoting the Sullivan Catskills’ reputation as a premier fishing destination. These events help drive interest in our region, encouraging new visitors and returning travelers alike.

Looking ahead, the SCVA team is preparing for the ABA Marketplace in Philadelphia, a key conference focused on group travel across North America. This event presents a valuable opportunity to connect with travel planners and tour operators, expanding group tourism to the Sullivan Catskills.

Welcoming International Visitors

Through our partnership with I Love NY, the SCVA had the pleasure of hosting international tour operators and writers from Germany, Switzerland, Canada, and the UK. These visitors explored the region firsthand, discovering our rich history, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant arts and culinary scenes. Their experiences will help position the Sullivan Catskills as a must-visit destination for international travelers.

What’s Happening in February

As we move into February, the Sullivan Catskills remain full of exciting happenings. Whether you’re looking for outdoor adventure, culinary experiences, or entertainment, there’s something for everyone:

Super Bowl Celebrations – Catch the big game at one of our amazing businesses including Smok’d BBQ & Big Eddy Brewing Co., River’s Edge, the Villa Roma, and much more!

Winter Recreation – Enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and tubing at Holiday Mountain, which recently upgraded its snowmaking equipment and added new runs, as well as the Villa Roma Resort.

Valentine’s Day – From romantic dinners to creative activities and luxurious getaways, the Sullivan Catskills has so much to offer for couples, friends, and everyone in between!

As always, the SCVA remains dedicated to showcasing the Sullivan Catskills and driving tourism that supports our local businesses and communities. Stay tuned for more updates, and we look forward to a year filled with growth and opportunity!
