Development/Water: Follow the flow. Attend meetings. It’s a Town, Planning Department, and DEC issue and agenda item. The SC Division of Planning, Community Development & Environmental Management assessment of potable and wastewater infrastructure is underway with Delaware Engineering and area municipal departments. Research, tests and facts must lead actions, especially for high-density development. Next watch: Feasibility study for a county incinerator.                                                                                                                                    

Meanwhile, we can be stewards of conservation and institute good environmental practices. ie: ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’.

The BW Harvest Festival is held on Sundays at the Hurd x West Shore site from 11-4pm with farm and craft vendors, food trucks, corn maze and more. The 29th has Axe Throwing, Pet Adoption, and main event: ‘Stein Holding Competition’. Music: 12n ‘Lara Hope’ and 2pm ‘Allison Cipris Band’.                                                                                                  

Rotary hosts a Blood Drive, in honor of Krissy Walsh, on the 30th from 12n-6pm at the Resorts World Epicenter.

Delaware Highlands Conservancy hosts the ‘Taste of the Harvest’ Dinner at Cedar Lakes Estate on the 29th.                                                 

DVAA Galleries exhibit Dale Emmart (Alliance) and Margaret Inga Urias (Loft) through October 27th.                                                           

DVO Art’s Nest offers ‘Beat the Devil’ in concert on the 28th at 7pm.                                                                

Forestburgh Playhouse hosts Paige Turner in ‘The Wonderful World of Drag’ on the 26th at 8 / Dinner -Drinks at 6:30pm. Hancock Partners opens town with music: ‘Grateful Upstate Toodeloo Band’ and Rivka’s ‘Healing Drum Circle’ on the 28th from 4-8pm.                   

HPAC-See programs schedule online. ‘Transformers One’ shows on the 27-29th (F:6pm, Sat:3pm, Sun:2pm).                                                                                                                                         Narrowsburg Union currently hosts a 5-Gallery exhibit and the Saturday Farm Market. Nesin Cultural Arts, together with SCCO, offer programs and music lessons.                                                                                                                                        

Shadowland Stages offers “The Garbologists” through the 29th (Th, F, S at 8pm, Sun at 2pm).

SCDW will entertain with the ‘Haunted Theater’ at the Rivoli on weekends in October. 

SC Historical Society hosts ‘Voices of Survivors: Inspiring Hope, Sanctuary, Compassion and Community’ through the 29th at the Hurleyville Museum (see daily schedule Tues-Sun: www.HopesCompass.org).                                                                    

Callicoon Movie Theater screens “Blink Twice” on the 27th- 30th (all 7:30, Sat & Sun 2pm).

Farm Markets: Thursday: Monticello at 10-1pm (Last: 9/26). Sat: Barryville and Narrowsburg, Rock Hill(L:9/28) at 10-1pm. Sun: Livingston Manor and Roscoe at 10-2pm and Callicoon at 11-2pm.
