Tri-Valley’s McGregor, Edwards sign letters of intent

GRAHAMSVILLE – Two senior Tri-Valley student-athletes signed their letters of intent to colleges before their awards banquet on Tuesday, June 18.

Kendall McGregor, a standout Lady Bear on the soccer pitch and record-breaking runner for indoor and outdoor track signed her letter of intent to Dominican University just outside New York City in Orangeburg. McGregor will be playing soccer at the university.

Girls Varsity Coach Kayla Connolly spoke on the growth she has witnessed from McGregor over her four years of coaching her.

“Kendall encompassed all the qualities a collegian athlete needs for their first semester on the field,” Connolly said. “Her skills as a highly competent athlete, coupled with her leadership mentality, will help her to branch her transition within the new chapter of her life.

“Kendall has shown so much growth over the years,” Coach Connolly continued. “You probably wouldn’t believe it when I say she used to be shy when I first started coaching varsity. I knew she had great potential and could go far in soccer after leaving Tri-Valley, but she needed to believe in herself as well as become a leader for her team.”

Noah Edwards was a top runner for Boys Varsity Cross Country, Boys Varsity Indoor Track and Boys Varsity Track. He will take his talents to Messiah University, a private Christian university in Mechanicsburg, PA.

“What makes this special,” said Varsity Track and Cross Country Coach Tyler Eckhoff, “they are not only great athletes for Tri-Valley, but they are great leaders and great people. They do a lot for this community. We’re kind of rinky dink here and we really pride ourselves on not just pumping out people who do things athletically into the world, but pumping out great human beings. And that’s what we have here between these two.”
